Oceanside

I love that we live close enough to the beach we can get away once in awile to visit. We only had one more weekend where we could leave before school started so we decided to hit up Oceanside. We wanted to camp by the beach but in our last minute attempt to find a campsite there wasn't anything available. Plus I decided being pregnant we should probably just stay in a hotel so I could be a little more comfortable. We got up extra early and was out the door by 5:30am. The kids thought breakfast in the car was fun.

Even though it was early this girl was all smiles

We went straight to the beach and set up camp. We had a picnic lunch and then played all day!

This little boy was in heaven. The first day he wasn't too brave to go very far out into the water but by the time we left he was out there diving under the waves.

Snorkel anyone?

Tylers death date is the 18th and since we knew we would be at the beach we brought our butterfly kite to fly in his honor. It's hard to believe that little boy has been gone longer that he was with our family. We sure do miss him!

I love the little cheeser smile this girl always gives when the camera is pointed in her direction

Kayden has been asking to try some fish for A LONG TIME. But since I am not a fish eater and hate the smell (especially being prego) there have been no fish coming out of my kitchen. So we thought it was a good idea to let him try some at a restaurant and what better place than Joe's Crab Shack. Kayden is pretty picky when it comes to food so we decided to start with something that wasn't so "fishy".

Brooklyn wasn't feeling well by this point but she was a trooper and still enjoyed the evening out.

Kayden liked the popcorn shrimp. I think he is ready to move up to something else fishy. It's a good thing Brock likes fish so that he can take Kayden out to get some.

We stayed in a hotel that night and got some much needed rest and was ready to play again the next day. We started out by walking out onto the pier.

We then bought Kayden a skim board and let him try that out in the water. He was doing pretty good. I forgot my camera in the car the rest of the day but we pretty much just played in the water and soaked up the sun. On the way home we got stuck in construction traffic so we didn't get home until really late but it was totally worth it! We are already looking at beach houses to rent for next summer. Oceanside just might be our new favorite vacation spot!!
