Catch Up

Life has been busy with two kids. You wouldn't think I would be so busy because I am housebound but last week was a little crazy. Tyler has to go to the doctor every 1-2 weeks so we did that. We had a case worker come into our home to see Tyler and get him set up with a program. We also had an SSI interview for Tyler as well. I also had both kids evaluated by the Child Development Center (CDC) on different days too. Tyler definitly qualifies for services from the CDC and people will begin to come into our home next week to help him. Kayden on the other hand passed his evaluation with flying colors, and is actually doing well above average for his age. Kayden had to identify objects out of a book, stack blocks, put things in and take things out of a plastic tube as well as screw the top off, and do other things I can't remember. The lady that was evaluating him sat down on the floor with a container full of toys and Kayden immediatly opened it up and pretty much evaluated himself. He started doing everything the lady was going to ask him to do. It was pretty neat. Its always nice to hear that we are doing something right at home, and that your child is above average.

Amongst my busy week Amanda and I had planned to have a little girls night out on Wednesday night and go out for ice cream...or so I thought. She told me that she would come and get me and then we would go and pick up a couple of other girls. Well when she got to my house she looked so cute (but she always does) and I on the other hand was in my stay around the house snot from my kids sweatshirt...but thought nothing of it. Then we went to pick up Karen and she too looked a little nice just to go eat ice cream. We then went to pick up Morgan from the Hammonds house...thought that was a little weird but again didn't really think about it. So we all went up to the door to pick up Morgan and outside we saw Beth walking up to the door with a chip and dip platter. I thought that was weird and my first thought was that I had already brought her dinner for the night...so why was she here with food?? Well we walked inside and everyone was staring at me and there were lots of people and presents and silly me I had no clue that all my friends were there because of me. I thought they were having a party and I wasn't invited, and then I just kept thinking that we needed to get Morgan and leave because I was feeling a little awkward. So I am REALLY slow and I finally figured out that all my friends threw me a suprise baby shower. I felt a little underdressed (Brock heard about it later, and I told him next time I go out for ice cream to tell me that I need to look a little nicer) but I got over it fast and had a great time. There was great food and wonderful company. I had a really fun time, and I can't thank those enough who put it on for me (I heard that was you Liz) and for Amanda to get me out of the house and for Penny for allowing it to be at her house last minute. Thank you for all who have been such a support to us, and thank you for coming that night. I wish that I could have had Tyler with me. We got a lot of much needed things including lots of diapers (502 to be exact) wipes, clothes and other goodies. Amanda thankfully took some pictures of the night...

I am glad you had a good time but I want to make it clear that I was not the one that put this night together. I may have made a phone call or 2 but I will not be held accountable for your fun night out. Thanks for getting out on Thursday for my B-day dessert. I and really glad you and Beth were there...As far as Kaden and the CDC are concerned, it is fun to have those people tell you that you have smart kids. They will do amazing things for Tyler. Sure do think the world of you and your family. Huge thanks to Brock for all he does to help Steve. He is the man behind the scenes that makes things run smoothly. Believe me I know. Have a great Thanksgiving....

Sarah, you are lucky to have such good friends there who help you out so much. You really didn't look all that bad from the picture. All our love to the boys.
