Christmas

Christmas came and went pretty fast this year! We had way too much planned in December and although we enjoyed the season it went really fast. We got to spend Christmas in our favorite place....right here in our own home. It was a little different than we are used too without any snow...or even cold weather but we loved it. Christmas Eve was spent watching a movie and just spending time together. We had our big dinner Christmas Eve (although it really isn't that much fun or even special with the ages our kids are at. Brock and I tried to enjoy it but it was a little rough. Just like any other dinner it was a fight to get Kayden to eat anything). We then opened pajama gifts, watched the three minute Nativity movie, and tried to read the story from the scriptures & we barely got through it, but not without both kids crying & laughing and bugging each other. We put Brooklyn to bed and then read Kayden a Christmas story before he went to bed!

Christmas morning we only opened up stockings and had a nice breakfast and then went to church. It was rough for Kayden to wait so long, but I loved not being rushed and enjoyed the time we spent together opening gifts. It was weird to think that this was Brooklyn's first Christmas with us because it seems like she has been with us for so long. Kayden loved helping her open her gifts.

Merry Christmas

Cute kids in their new Jammies. Kayden loved his so much he came home from church and put them right back on.

Christmas morning

Kayden got a green wrench with the number 15 on it!

Kayden was with me when we got Brock's Christmas present. I told him not to tell Brock what it was so he decided to tell Brock he was getting a green wrench with the number 15 on it. He stuck to that story for a whole week and it was so funny to hear him tell it (which makes me wonder how many lies I fall for that this kid tells??) but the funny part was that the trick was really on him. Brock painted his number 15 wrench green and wrapped it up to give to Kayden for Christmas. (I had no idea that wrenches even had numbers on them, but Kayden helps Brock out in the garage a lot, and he is so observant!) Kayden was a little confused when he opened it up, but it sure gave Brock and I a good laugh.

Love the green wrench story! Tim's biggest disappointment this year was that he couldn't get Gracie to tell him what his present was. She told him "stop asking questions"! Your Christmas eve sounds a lot like ours, except we were lucky that both girls LOVE ham so they at least had some of that and a roll without a fight :) Missing you my friend!
