I decided to head to Las Vegas a little earlier than planned because I was going crazy by myself. I also decided to do it all in one day it was only 9 hours. Well that morning it snowed but I didn't really think anything of it. I watched the news and it said it was just raining in Salt Lake so I thought if we could just make it to Salt Lake we would be good. We left about 9am and the roads were not all that great but good enough to just take it slow and keep going. We got to about Lyman (an hour away from our house) when cars and trucks started to slow down...and then eventually came to a stop. We were stuck with hundreds of other people because the road was closed. It snowed for awhile and then the sun came out and started melting everything. We saw people out playing in the snow, or walking around, and also going to the bathroom. It was the strangest thing ever, and in the four years we have lived in Rock Springs we have never been stuck on the road. We watched movies until our movie player battery died, we ate snacks and I fed Brooklyn twice. It was quit the adventure. After 4 hours we started to see cars coming from the other direction so I got excited. It wasn't for another hour that we started moving. They apparently only open one side at a time. That was the hardest part watching the other side move but we couldn't. We sat there for 5 hours! and this was our view from our car. We finally got to Salt Lake at 5pm...a whole 8 hours after we left (it normally takes 2 1/2 hours) I decided that we needed to stay the night there and then travel the rest of the day on Friday, and that's just what we did. We got to Vegas on Friday night after a very long two days in the car!
