Anyone that knows me probably knows that I love to go cut down our own Christmas Tree for Christmas. It's my favorite thing we do and I think it's becoming Kayden's favorite too. This is our fourth year going and our third here in Wyoming. Previous years we had gone south and west so this year we went North. I thought maybe I wouldn't be able to go out and actually hike around and find one with Brock and Kayden but I didn't let that bother me too much. We set out on Saturday to find the perfect tree. The drive to Pinedale is about an hour and a half. In the past we have been able to buy the permits on Saturday but this year we had no such luck. I tried to get one on Friday in Rock Springs but we couldn't. They told us to go there and buy one. When we got there we found out that NO ONE in Pinedale sells tree permits on Saturday. We were so bummed. So we drove around and found the ski resort, took some pictures and then headed home empty handed. Kayden was a little confused why we went and brought the saw and couldn't get a tree. We kept telling him we could get one on Monday but I'm sure by that point he really didn't believe us. Last night we went to Smiths still disappointed we had to get out tree from a grocery store. When got in the car Kayden asked if we had the saw and then when we pulled up to Smiths he asked why we were there. He thought we were going to cut one down still poor kid. We still got a nice tree and had fun decorating it last night together for Family Home Evening.

These pictures don't do justice to how beautiful Pinedale is.

Bummer! When life throws a wrench in the works- the whole permit thing that is- at least there's Smiths (I sure miss that silly grocery store!)!
