FMC Safety Day

On Saturday FMC had a safety day and picnic. We were a little wishy washy about going just because it was on Brock's birthday. Well we finally decided to go, and we are so glad that we did. FMC put on a great picnic. The food was great. They had huge blow up slides for the kids, lots of treats, a "dig for Trona" sandbox, fire safety, plant tours, mine tours, and lots of other things. It took a little convincing on Brocks part to go on the mine tour. I was a little nervous to go down 16oo feet under ground being so pregnant, but I survived it. (A mine shaft is not the first place I would pick to deliver a baby). A lot of the guys in there gave me a hard time, but all in all told me that if I needed to, they would get me out of there quick. I was also nervous to just drop Kayden off at a little babysitting booth while we left for an hour to go down into the mine. I could just see him running off or something, and someone not seeing him, but he did great. I get myself so worked up and worried about things like that, that sometimes its hard for me to go and have a good time. I was definitely glad to come back and see that he was having a great time in the huge sandbox. Kayden was so excited about all of the things going on. They had an ambulance there, and a police booth with a little crash simulator that was pretty neat. He just kept pointing at things and shrieking with excitement. The fire department had a booth set up where you had to put out a fire. We got a free fire extinguisher out of it. (We have been meaning to buy one of those forever because our house doesn't have one....and now we do...YAY!) We had a great day and learned lots about where daddy works. We hope FMC does this again soon.

Lots to eat

Ready to go down into the mine

Brock loved going down into the mine. They told us a lot of stuff about equipment and other things that went right over my head, but it was all pretty interesting to see.

Here is me next to a huge machine...don't ask me what it does!! (look I'm not the biggest thing in the world

Coming back up

Sarah, if you think you look huge then I was a planet with my own gravitation pull! You look great! That machine looks kind of fun. Without blowing in up it looks like a pile of soda cans. Sounds like a very fun picnic! Brock didn't mention all the fun stuff they had there, but he is a boy and details don't matter! :-)
