A few weeks ago Brock had to go to Huntington Beach for a class for work and the rest of us tagged along. The first night was rough! Really rough! We had to switch rooms at the hotel right when we got there, we found out the hard way that the pool was closed, and staying in a hotel room with a baby results in Brooklyn screaming for an hour before she falls asleep. I know that Brock was regretting bringing us along by that point, but the trip did get better. My camera of course had a dead battery in it so I wasn't able to take any pictures of the kids & I when Brock was at his class. Our hotel was right across the street from a gorgeous outdoor mall so that's where the kids and I spent the day. Kayden got to ride his scooter all around (& I'm so glad that I let him bring that, it entertained him all day) we had a yummy lunch at Johnny Rockets, then we went to see The Lorax. When Brock was done with class we took a beautiful drive down highway 1 to Laguna Beach. The sun finally showed its face and we had a fun time playing and relaxing in the sand.
This has got to be one of my favorites of Brooklyn. What a cutie.
She HATED the sand and wanted nothing to do with it. She dug in it for a minute and then wouldn't get close to it after that. She just wanted Brock to hold her the whole time. The last time we went to the beach she wasn't mobile so the sand didn't bother her at all.
This picture clearly shows how skinny this kid really is. All his ribs are showing!! Man I need to start feeding him butter or something!

I really liked Laguna Beach & hopefully we can get back there soon when it's a little warmer. We ended the night at a fancy Italian restaurant (that was not so fond of kids) and then headed home the next day.

What an adventure! We've had trips where Tim has questioned the presence of the girls and I- but a mom needs a change of scene every now and again too. It's amazing how fast Kayden and Brooklyn are growing up.
O so cute! Sarah!! I look at all these pics and think... she and Sydney would be such good buddies!
