Frustrated

I didn't think I owned any pets until today. As I was watering my tiny garden this morning I found a nice surprise on our lawn. Now I now that dogs can't get into my backyard, and this surprise was way too big to be a cat...so whose could it be?? Yup you guessed it. I own a three year old little puppy named Kayden!! I was shocked to see that he had managed to poop outside on the lawn without Brock or I seeing him do it (because we were both home). He unfortunately learned that it was OK to go pee outside on our trip when of course I would stop in the middle of Nevada for him to go on the side of the road. Now he thinks its OK to pee anywhere outside and at anyones house....and now he must think its OK to poop too?? Where have I gone wrong? Of course I have tried to teach him that we use the toilet...and only go outside on road trips when there is an emergency. It just won't go through this kids head. It is really embarrassing when he goes right in front of his girl friends while they are playing in their backyard (ya sorry about that one Evans!!) Is this normal for little boys or am I just raising a dog?? Well I made Kayden go out with a shovel and a bag this morning and I helped him clean up. I sure hope this is just a SHORT phase and that my little doggie will be potty trained soon!
