Our second stop was the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. As a kid my family went here every summer even up until I went to college, so this place holds a lot of memories. I hadn't been back here since before I was married and I wanted to show Brock and Kayden. My dad decided to join us for the day. We packed a picnic lunch and set out for a day in the sun.

We started Kayden off on the kid rides. Small and slow, but he got bored of those real fast.

He saw a kid roller coaster and wanted to try that. He was too little to ride so Brock had to go with him. I was a little scared for him I thought he would come off crying but he ended up loving it. He wanted to go on it over and over again.
This is how Ty rode the whole day. He liked just being in his stroller soaking up the sun. It was a perfect day not too hot and not too cold. The boardwalk had only opened up for the summer a few days before we got there so there were no lines either.

Kayden was so funny on this ride. Its a ghost buster ride and you have to shoot the ghosts with your gun. The funniest part is that he calls the ghosts "the holy ghosties"
This is the only ride that Ty was aloud on. It was a little cave train ride.
I don't know how Brock convinced Kayden to go on this ride. Its one where it goes up and then drops over and over again. Kayden liked it at first and then he wanted to get off about half way through. Here he is at the begining...smiling. He said the ride made his tummy feel weird.

Back on the roller coaster again.
and a boring airplane ride. He got the hang of controlling the rides really fast.

My dad is a kid at heart. He HAD to go on the carousel with Kayden before we left! I even think he enjoyed it more than Kayden did.

Here we are going down the log ride. Kayden rode this twice and loved it. Brock and I even got to sneak away and ride a roller coaster while my dad watched the boys.
After we rode the rides all day we went and played on the beach. The water was freezing but that didn't stop Brock and Kayden from going in.
One happy little boy.

Kayden would go and get his feet wet and then run back to us with shrieks and lots of laughs.

My favorite part of the day was spotting some dolphins out in the ocean. What a cool sight. I couldn't get a good picture of them.
The boardwalk gang.

How fun! I cannot believe Brock took Kayden on the ride that shoots you up, I thought I was going to die on that ride at Lagoon. Hope to see you guys soon!
