Discovery Day

The CDC has been apart of our lives for a year and a half so when they had their second annual Discovery Day last week we went and supported them. It took Kayden about 20 minutes before he was comfortable and wanted to do any of the activities. I think he was a little confused at why his preschool teachers were there, but in the end he loved it and didn't want to leave. They had about 20 booths set up with lots of different activities for the kids to play/explore with.

I think this was Kaydens favorite, the bean pool. He has a Tupperware full of noodles that I let him play in, but that doesn't even compare to this. We had to keep reminding him to keep his body out of it and to just sit on the side and put his hands in it.

This is play therapy snow. It was pretty cool and fun to play in. Brock and I even took a turn playing in it. Ty's therapist is going to get me the recipe, she says its not too hard to make, although this amount took 80 gallons of water

This is how Ty rode the whole time. At first it was a little too much commotion for him and he screamed, but he got used to it fast and just hung out in the stroller

CDC wouldn't be complete without our friend Dallas. He is a big therapy dog. He goes around to all the classrooms to see all the kids. Kayden comes home from school telling me about him. Tyler also goes and does therapy with him sometimes at the center. He enjoys laying over his back and petting him. They had a doghouse set up with pictures on it of Dallas doing therapy and Ty made it on there (his is the second one down from the left).

This is Ty with his speech therapist Kari. She held him so Ty could pet Dallas. He was smiling quit a bit.

Kayden made a little bird seed thing to hang outside on our tree. The second we put it outside though he got a little upset that the birds didn't come to eat it. I told him we had to wait, but would check on it again soon to see if any bird had been by for a nibble.

Kaydens picture was also on the wall with the rest of his "fish" class. He was a little shy taking a picture by it.



Other things we did that I didn't get pictures of was digging for dinosaur bones, making peanut butter and jelly sushi rolls, and planting seeds. We had a fun night out as a family and we are looking forward to the next Discovery Day.
