Kayden is a big fan of Curious George, and I think that a lot of that curiousness has rubbed off on Kayden. He is so energetic and into EVERYTHING. I can't leave him alone for a minute. Nice showers are out of the question. I have a really hard time knowing how to parent him and even harder time trying to figure new ways to channel all of this energy into positive things. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them...
Here is how our day has gone so far.....
6:00 am: Kayden is already awake and asking for Kcakes (pancakes)
7:30 am My once clean room is a disaster. While I was taking a shower and getting dressed
he has destroyed it with books, cars and other toys
8:30 am Kayden is hungry and is climbing all of the pantry shelves trying to find a snack (he
had breakfast at 6:30)
10:00am While I am vacuuming out the car Kayden proceeds to jam the mail key into the
ignition. It started making this high pitch noise and I couldn't get the real car
key to start the car. I was a little upset. Needless to say the problem got fixed.
11:30 Tylers Neurosurgeon calls me to give me results of his MRI on Friday afternoon.
I run upstairs to have it be a little quiet so I can hear (it is kinda important) and
Kayden soon follows me upstairs with a butcher knife in his hand. I quickly
grab that while still on the phone so he then decides to the throw pennies down
the vent.
12:00 Kayden falls asleep on the couch. This never happens. He has been a little behind in
his sleep the last couple of days with us traveling and having his cousin here for the
weekend. I can only wonder what this afternoon will bring....
I forgot to post this awhile ago but I wanted to share a story of Kayden and of course his curiosity tittled "Neighborhood Nakedness"
One morning a couple of weeks ago I got Kayden a huge stack of books and put him on my bed so that I could get into the shower for a couple of minutes. He usually just sits there and reads, or plays in my room or bathroom. Well I got in and about 2 minutes later and heard the garage door go up, then down, then up, then down then up. My first thought was "what is Brock doing home? He should have been to work by now" but I quickly realized that it was Kayden. I hurried and got out and just put a towel around me, ran downstairs to find him playing in the car with the garage door wide open. He had found the garage door opener in the car. I put on my shoes, closed the garage door, and proceeded to get him out of the car, not all before the whole neighborhood saw me in my towel I am sure. This is typical Kayden. I now lock the car and the garage door before I leave him alone for any amount of time. I am just grateful he was in the car and not running down the street because who knows what could have happened then. (the neighbors really would have gotten a show).
We love that Kayden is so curious (most of the time) but we really need to find positive ways that he can use this on. I guess y0u live and learn right??
P.S. 4:30pm Kayden floods the bathroom by overflowing the toilet. I pray for patience everyday

Cheer up! It gets easier as they grow. I used to make a lot of file folder games for my boys. It seemed to help with learning and quiet time.
What a day Sarah. I can relate to the toilet. That one is not fun, not that any of the other things were either. Kayden sure is curious, adventurous, and just a boy.
Sarah you are such a trooper. listen to Lonestar's song, Let Them Be Little, every day. It will help you get through any day! We're glad to see you guys doing well and able to go outside, Yea!
Sarah I am busting a gut!!! My guy is older now and I still pray for patients everyday. This too shall pass and you can be greatful that he doesn't talk back or give you the look yet. Love to hear Tyler is doing good. I miss you all!
What no picture of you in your towel? teehee teehee. Love it.
Oh Sarah What can I say. Only that those days will be gone before you know it.
