Baby Tyler smiles

So we know that Tyler will be a lot slower at achieving the small milestones in life, so when he does something we all think it is amazing and can't wait for him to do it again. He started to smile not too long ago (maybe a month and a half ago) and it took me forever to get a picture of it. I absolutely love it. I love to watch him smile. It is usually brief and for no apparent reason, but it just makes your heart melt. I can't get enough of it.

We went to Salt Lake again last week, and it was the best hospital visit yet!!! We met with the Dysphagia clinic and they had Tyler eat by mouth. It was a three hour appointment (no I didn't have Kayden with me...that would have been really hard) and we met with a dr., a psychologist, a dietitians and the dr. that helped Tyler eat. He sucked out about 2-3 cc's from a bottle which is hardly anything, but it's SOMETHING. We were so excited for him. We went back the next day to have a CT scan, do a swallow study and see the neurologist. All appointment went well. Tyler PASSED his swallow study which was such a shock so now we can feed him by mouth. We feed him a bottle every time he needs to eat and he drinks for a few minutes and then we put the rest right into his stomach. He needs surgery in the future which we kinda already knew about one, the doctor informed us of another he needs, but it didn't have to be right then, so I was happy. He didn't want to rock the boat since Tyler is doing so well right now. We also went to his pediatrician on Monday for his 6 mo. check up and Tyler is weighing in at 14 lbs 10 oz and he is 25 inches long. He is a growing boy. He is doing wonderful. We are finally going to bless him on the 29th of this month, so now we are just preparing for that. Only a few more weeks and then we can take Tyler out of the house. Hooray!!!!

Those little milestones are not so little for Tyler. What an awesome thing to have him be able to take a bottle even if it is a little bit. He is such an angle, I just love him to death!!!
