Our hospital stay

I convinced my Doctor that I really needed to have Brooklyn in December and she said that was OK just as long as I had an Amnio first to check baby's lungs. I told Brock before we went in on the 28th that if I had to go home because of undeveloped lungs I would not be a happy momma. We left Kayden with my sister and went in early on Tuesday for the Amnio. It takes about 3 hours for the results to come back so after the Amnio I got sent over to Labor and Delivery to hang out on the machines. They got me all ready as if I were going to have the baby with IV's and a lovely gown and monitors. I was contracting every 4-6 minutes (nothing that hurt). My doctor had a miscommunication with the lab on the results so it took longer to get results. They finally came back at about 1pm and they got me ready to go into surgery. Little Brooklyn was born an hour later. This C-section was so much better then the last. I knew what to expect and this time they didn't have to tie down my arms or give me an oxygen mask. When Brooklyn came out she began to cry and I completely lost it. I never got to hear my Ty bugs cry right after he was born so it was so special to hear her cry. I also delivered her in the same room that Ty was born in so that was special too. I am sure he was with me that day. Brock went with Brook to the nursery and my mom stayed with me while I got stitched up. I was also neat to have her with me and for her to watch Brooklyn being born.

We had to get a before picture of course. This is right after the amnio. We had four long and boring hours to hang out together while we anticipated the results.
We got the go ahead to have a baby so Brock scrubbed up. This was right before they took me away. I had to walk to the OR and Brock had to stay behind while they gave me the epidural and got all set up. He walked in right before they took her out.

Yay! we have a new baby sister!! Brock went to get Kayden after I had gotten settled in my room.
When Kayden walked into the room for the first time Brooklyn was getting her bath. He just sat at the edge of my bed and watched.

Holding baby sister for the first time. We were completely smitten and in love with this little girl.

One happy family! We only wish Tyler could be with us.
Brooklyn and I spent the next three days in the hospital. We had a lot of quit moments by ourselves where I would just eat her up and totally enjoy being alone with her. I was so nervous to have a little girl, but now that she is here I have just loved every minute. The nurses at the hospital make hats for all the newborns. Brooklyn looked so cute in hers.
We got released on Friday afternoon. I was so ready to come home!

We had to stop and pick up Kayden on our way. He was so excited to show off his new baby sister to Addy and Bri.

We booked it home, got settled and then Brock and I ran off to a New Years Eve party (Thanks Brook and Jen!). It was so nice to be out of the hospital and back home. We rang in the new year with friends and then came home and crashed. It's amazing how draining a new baby can be.

What a special thing to deliver in the same room as you did with Ty! At least they had some good brother sister time before she arrived. She is darling and your whole family looks so happy. MISS YOU!!!
