I have never been a big reader. I hated reading all the way through school, and never read for pleasure because I just never knew where to find a good book. (and really where would I find the time??) That was my excuse anyway. I was always way to slow, and I would pick up a book, and if it didn't totally grab me within a couple of chapters I never would finish it. I never really got into book clubs either. I never liked the idea of sitting around discussing a book; something that sounded way too smart for me. A couple of women in our ward started a book club back in November and the whole thought didn't tickle my fancy but I wanted to read a good book because it really had been YEARS. So I thought that was a great idea. I had no intention on ever going to any book club, but I got my hands on the list of the books the women were going to read. I thought that this was a good way to at least find a good book. I hesitated but went to the library to find a book. A complete change has come over me.... I can't get enough of it. I have found some of the best books to read (thanks to book club) and I even started to go to book club. I am not very vocal there (all back to the whole smart thing) but it is fun to get out, eat some good food and chat with the ladies. I finished the last book awhile ago and today I just had to get to the library to find a new one. I dragged Kayden out in the windy cold (and it is FREEZING here) to get my hands on a new book to read. Kayden got some books and a couple of movies out of it too. I can't wait until it is warm again to sit outside and sip lemonade and read a GOOD book.
Here is a short list of the books that we have read:
1. These is my words (haven't read this one yet)
2. Skipping Christmas
3. My Sisters Keeper - little bit of bad language throughout it, but it is GREAT!
4. Pride and Prejudice - I cheated and only watched the movie for this one, still good though
5. The Glass Castle: A Memoir - Loved it
Our next one is Warriors Don't Cry and I haven't gotten to it yet, but I am excited for it. I am reading a book called "Night" right now that is about the Holocaust, that I think is our July or August book.

Welcome to the world of reading! I love to get whisked away into a good book. You should read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, talk about addicting! There are three books; Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. They are about vampires but good vampires, nothing like you think and it seriously is a great read! Jon is even reading them.
Happy Reading!
Thanks for the list of books. I love to read when I have the chance. The only problem is my family gets totally neglected when I am into the book. You definitly should read the Twilight books. I LOVED them. I even got them on my ipod so when Jayda was having one of her fits I put my head phones on and listened to the book while walking around. It really helped me deal with all her colic :->.
